From swimming lessons to family fun and membership deals, the Cal Poly Recreation Center is your summer hub for all things active, social, and energizing. Whether you’re a student, alumni, parent, or San Luis Obispo community member, ASI has many offerings for you to stay moving and connected this summer!
Youth Aquatics Programming
Our summer youth aquatics lineup offers classes to help build early swim skills or simply refine techniques with one-on-one coaching.
Pre-Swim: Family Lessons
Interactive water time for guardians and children ages 6 months–4 years, led by experienced instructors.
- Date: Aug. 9, 16, 23 & Sept. 6
- Cost: $100 for four 30-minute lessons
Youth Private Swim Lessons
Custom one-on-one sessions for ages 4–16, scheduled to fit your needs.
- Dates: July 7—Sept. 10
- Cost: $270 for 4 hours

American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification
Get certified to save lives this summer! Our Red Cross Lifeguarding certification course prepares you to prevent, recognize, and respond to aquatic emergencies and provide essential emergency care. Includes certification in Lifeguarding, CPR, AED & First Aid.
Dates:
- Online access sent by June 9, 2025
- In-Person Session 1: Friday, June 20 (6:00—9:30 p.m.)
- In-Person Session 2: Saturday, June 21 (9:00 a.m.—6:30 p.m.)
- In-Person Session 3: Sunday, June 22 (9:00 a.m.—6:30 p.m.)

From June 19—Aug. 31, make every day a Family Fun Day! Paid Recreation Center members can choose between three pass options to bring the whole family:
- One-Day Guest Pass
- Thursday—Sunday Pass (4 days/week)
- Every-Day Pass (7 days/week)
Summer 2025 Student Membership Special
Get the full summer for just $90! Students enrolled in summer school don’t pay the UU Fee, meaning there is no automatic Recreation Center membership. But, we’ve got a special $90 summer membership deal for all students in San Luis Obispo this summer valid through June 23— Sept. 5, 2025.
- Discounted Rate: $90 (normally $125)
- Sales open Monday, June 16 and close Sunday, July 13
- After July 13, regular $45/month
