University Union
The hub of campus life.
Whether for studying, socializing, or touring campus, the University Union is the gathering place for the Cal Poly community. Commonly referred to as the UU, it serves as the hub for campus activities, events, and services.
Welcome to the UU
The University Union (UU) is the hub for a variety of cultural, educational, social, and recreational programs. Centrally located on campus, the UU was built in 1971 and includes over 110,000 square feet of space for students and other Cal Poly community members to meet, socialize, and enhance their experience on campus.
Overview
The UU is managed by ASI and houses many ASI programs including ASI Events, ASI Club Services, the ASI Craft Center, ASI Student Government, and ASI Business Services. Numerous university departments also call the UU home, including the Dean of Students, Pride Center, Gender Equity Center, MultiCultural Center, and the Center for Leadership.
The UU provides a variety of options for students or the Cal Poly community to meet, study, socialize, or host an event. Whether you are in the San Luis or Chandler Study Lounges, one of the reservable conference rooms, Mustang Lanes Bowling Alley, Chumash Auditorium, or the outdoor UU Plaza with entertainment stage, there is a space for everyone!
