Cal Poly Rose Float
Join the tradition.
Since 1949, students from San Luis Obispo and Pomona have worked together to create the joint Cal Poly Universities float. The float is an annual tradition carried on by Cal Poly students. Gain a true Learn by Doing experience through helping to design and build the only student-built float in the Rose Parade.
The Rose Float Lab and Office will be open for exploration on Saturdays in early fall! Come learn more about this program on September 25, October 2, or October 9 from 10 a.m to 2 p.m. You can also visit the COVID-19 Updates page to learn more about plans for fall quarter.
Cal Poly Universities’ 2022 Float Theme — Stargrazers
Cal Poly Universities’ 2022 Float Stargrazers displays a scene from the classic nursery rhyme “The Cow Jumped over the Moon,” except with an engineering twist only two polytechnic schools could create. The float aims to exemplify the theme “Dream. Believe. Achieve.” As the only student-built float in the parade, we hope to show just what the power of education means to us.
