ASI Sage & ASI Monarch Scholarships
ASI is committed to supporting student success and broadening access to opportunities. In alignment with this commitment, ASI is proud to fund the ASI Sage and ASI Monarch Scholarships.
- ASI Sage Scholarship: $30,000 in scholarship funding is available.
- ASI Monarch Scholarship: $30,000 in scholarship funding is available.
Eligibility Information: The ASI Sage Scholarship is for students who have demonstrated contributions to Native American and Indigenous communities. The ASI Monarch Scholarship is for students who have demonstrated a commitment to honoring and celebrating the experiences of the Immigrant community at Cal Poly. Students must be regularly admitted and matriculated students. Both scholarships are open to all majors and class levels. Campus or community leadership through extracurricular activities and achievements will be considered.
Grocery Shuttle
Starting in winter 2026, ASI Student Government, in partnership with Campus Health & Wellbeing (Basic Needs), launched a free grocery shuttle service to help student access to affordable groceries and essential items. The service is designed to reduce transportation barriers and improve access to healthy food options for students who may not have reliable off-campus transportation. Shuttle routes connect campus stops at the Performing Arts Center (PAC), University Union, and Poly Canyon Village to popular shopping destinations including Trader Joe’s, Food 4 Less, Target, Whole Foods, and Costco. Route maps and detailed schedules are available through the Mustang Shuttle app.
Social Justice Program Funding
The ASI Board of Directors approved annual funding to support the allocation of funds to the ASI Social Justice Program. Funds are available to currently chartered Recognized Student Organizations (RSOs), Instructionally Related Activities (IRAs), and Cal Poly departments to sponsor or co-sponsor events or projects designed to advance student success, strengthen community, and uphold the values of access and belonging at Cal Poly.
Apply For The Fall 2026 Sage & Monarch Scholarships
Eligible students are invited to apply for the fall 2026 ASI Sage and ASI Monarch Scholarships, which honor leadership, service, and community engagement.
- Apply via the general scholarship application found on the My Cal Poly Portal.
- Aug. 31, 2026: Supplemental questionnaire available on this website. New this year — students will be required to complete this supplemental questionnaire in addition to the general scholarship application.
- Week of Sept. 28, 2026: Scholarship committee will review applications.
- Oct. 2026: Scholarships awarded.

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice Committee
The ASI Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice Committee is responsible for ensuring ASI Student Government serves as an inclusive environment to address the needs and concerns of systemically marginalized students.
The committee:
- Makes recommendations on inclusive language and alignment with ASI’s core value of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion within endorsements, resolutions, and bills.
- Gathers student feedback in the form of surveys, boothing, town halls, and/or similar initiatives designed with the goals of capturing student needs and issues regarding student success, access, inclusion, and belonging.
- Hosts campus events like ASI Unity Night designed to celebrate the rich variety of identities and cultures on campus.
ASI Student Government – Focus on Accessibility
ASI Student Government has prioritized accessibility by advancing initiatives that make Cal Poly’s campus safer, more inclusive and easier to navigate for all students. In spring 2025, the ASI Board of Directors passed Resolution #25-02 supporting increased lighting and safety infrastructure on campus, advocating for brighter LED lighting, additional Blue Light Emergency Phones and regular campus safety walks to identify areas needing improvement. The resolution specifically highlighted concerns about poorly lit pathways and emphasized the importance of creating a greater sense of security for students traveling after dark.
Student leaders have also championed accessibility through the implementation of NaviLens in the University Union, a technology that uses smart tags and a smartphone app to provide audio directions, location information and accessibility details for individuals with visual impairments. The project, launched through the University Union Advisory Board, helps users navigate campus spaces more independently while also improving access to information for the broader campus community. Together, these efforts demonstrate ASI Student Government’s commitment to removing barriers and creating a more accessible campus environment.
Reporting Bias and other Student Resources
The Office of the Dean of Students provides the Bias Incident Reporting Tool (BIRT). This resource is available for any members of the Cal Poly community who wish to report a bias incident.

Dedicated to advancing and empowering the educational journey of students within the Black Diaspora at Cal Poly.
Dream Center
Cal Poly’s Dream Center provides a supportive, inclusive, and empowering space for undocumented individuals, mixed-status individuals, and those who have been impacted by migration.
Gender Equity Center
Supports and empowers all women, feminine, transgender, and gender-expansive students and their supporters by creating strong community guided by intersectional programming, social justice-based education, and advocacy.
La CASA
Focuses on uplifting various cultures, histories, & traditions within the Latinx/e diaspora.
Men & Masculinities
Provides a supportive and inclusive environment for men and people who experience diverse and intersectional expressions of masculinity.
Multicultural Center
Creates a sense of belonging through community building, mentorship, and intersectional learning.
Native American and Indigenous Center
Encourages students to (re)connect to the traditions and cultures of the Native American and Indigenous peoples.
Pride Center
Cal Poly’s Pride Center supports and empowers people of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and expressions to strengthen and unite our central coast community.
Cultural & Institutional Excellence (CIX)
Committed to serving the entire campus in policy, practice, and purposefulness efforts to cultivate a culture of belonging where each individual feels valued, supported, and empowered, regardless of race, sex, color, ethnicity, or national origin.

Campus Basic Needs & Financial Wellness Resources
Cal Poly Cares: Office of the Dean of Students
Provides limited financial assistance to currently enrolled Cal Poly students who are unable to meet immediate, essential expenses because of temporary hardship related to an unexpected situation. Emergency grants and on-campus housing are available through application on the Cal Poly Cares website.
Career Services
Empowers all Cal Poly students to achieve a lifetime of meaningful career success by engaging with Cal Poly’s vibrant network. Guided by a vision to shape innovative, ethical, and culturally competent graduates who advance the economic and collective welfare of our global society. Provides career/internship exploration, major exploration, interviewing skills, résumé, and cover letter review.
