ASI Fitness is offering free Shorin Ryu Karate and Salsa/Bachata fitness workshops this spring at the Cal Poly Recreation Center. Whether you’re interested in self-defense training or moving to the rhythm of Latin dance, these workshops provide a unique and engaging way to stay fit while having fun.
Shorin Ryu Karate Fitness Workshop
On Saturday, April 5, from 12:30–2 p.m. in Studio 2, ASI Fitness invites participants to immerse themselves in the disciplined yet dynamic world of Shorin Ryu Karate. This centuries-old Okinawan martial art blends conditioning, strength training, and practical self-defense techniques into an intense full-body workout. Whether you’re a beginner or have martial arts experience, this workshop is an opportunity to sharpen your focus, enhance your physical abilities, and build self-confidence. Participants should wear comfortable clothing that allows for a full range of movement. While a gi is recommended, it is not required. Space is limited, so be sure to register in advance.
Salsa & Bachata Fitness Workshops
If you’re looking for a way to spice up your workout routine, the Salsa & Bachata Fitness Workshops are the perfect opportunity. These free sessions will take place on Wednesdays, April 23 and May 14, from 6:30–8 p.m. in Studio 2. Led by an experienced instructor, participants will learn the fundamental steps, turns, and partner connections of Salsa, along with the movements of Bachata. Open to dancers of all skill levels, this workshop provides a fun and engaging way to stay active while connecting with others.
