|
Have you ever thought about joining the ASI Student Government? This is your chance! The candidate filing period for the 2024–25 ASI president and ASI Board of Directors is open Monday, Feb. 5 through Friday, Feb. 26 at 4 p.m. All of the important dates can be found on the election timeline.
Student Government is not just a collective entity, but a reflection of the unique qualities, perspectives, and aspirations of each student. This year’s theme for elections is “ASI Is a Reflection of You”, a nod to Student Government’s role as the collective voice of Cal Poly students and advocates for change, support, and resources to create positive contributions both on- and off-campus. If elected, leaders will have the opportunity to create a better Cal Poly for current and future generations of students.
To file for ASI president or the Board of Directors, students must complete a Candidate Packet. You can find the Candidate Packets and their required electronic and PDF forms on the ASI Recruitment and Elections webpage starting at 8 a.m. on Feb. 5, 2024.
ASI Student Government will host information sessions, where students interested in filing as candidates can learn more about Student Government and the elections process. Sessions will include a presentation, Q&A period, and the chance to get to know the current Student government members and their roles. Sessions will be held on Monday, Feb. 5 at 7 p.m. in the Cal Poly Recreation Center Training Room (Building 43, Room 109) and Tuesday, Feb. 13 at 11 a.m. on Dexter Lawn (by Building 34). Additionally, those interested in filing and learning more about Student Government can attend a Candidate Information Booth on Thursday, Feb. 8 at 11 a.m. in the Recreation Center Plaza or Thursday, Feb. 22 at 11 a.m. in the lawn area near Mathematics and Science (Building 38). All information session dates can be found on the election timeline.
