Spring quarter at Cal Poly is in full swing, and ASI Wellness is offering a series of events designed to help students prioritize their mental health and unwind during the busiest time of the academic year. From painting pottery to mindful walks, these free programs are open to all and offer an escape from classroom stress.
A Relaxing Start
Things kick off on April 7 with a Vision Board Making session from 2–4 p.m. in the Cal Poly Recreation Center Lobby. Students can tap into their creative side and set intentions for the quarter ahead—perfect for goal-setting and manifesting good vibes.
Hands-On Wellness
Throughout the quarter, ASI Wellness and the ASI Craft Center are teaming up to bring more tactile, artistic events to campus. On April 17 from 11 a.m.–1 p.m., head to the Health Center Lawn for Pottery Painting and Succulent Planting. It’s a hands-on way to engage with nature, personalize something to take home, and enjoy time outdoors.
Another crafty highlight is “Unwind & Learn How to Crochet,” happening on May 8 from 11 a.m.–2 p.m. in the Recreation Center Training Room. Whether you’re a beginner or a pro, this drop-in workshop offers the perfect chance to slow down and stitch your stress away.
Wellness in Motion
Not all wellness is stationary. Between April 28 and June 2 (Weeks 2–7), ASI Wellness is hosting weekly Mindful Walks & Nourishing Talks from 3–4 p.m. in the Recreation Center’s Training Room. These sessions combine light physical activity with conversations around self-care, mindfulness, and overall well-being.
For the Gardeners and Dreamers
Looking for something a bit more grounding? Stop by the Food Pantry Garden on April 28 or June 2 for Painting and Gardening. This event invites students to connect with nature and add their artistic flair to the space.
Finals Week Zen
When finals hit, ASI Wellness has your back. From June 2–13, the Relaxation Room in the Recreation Center Training Room will be open for students needing a calm place to de-stress. On June 6, the “De-Stress for Exams” event in Studio 2 (12–2 p.m.) offers a last-minute recharge with relaxing activities and wellness resources.

Whether you’re getting your hands dirty in the garden, walking and talking with peers, or simply taking a breather before finals, ASI Wellness has curated a spring quarter lineup that meets students where they are—supporting both mental and emotional health with creativity and care.
