The 13th Annual Mustang Mile

San Luis Obispo, Calif. 04/29/2025 – The 13th annual Mustang Mile will be held on Wednesday, May 7 at 6:30 p.m. on Perimeter Road, near the Cal Poly Recreation Center (Building 43). ASI Events and ASI Intramural Sports are hosting this event in collaboration with Campus Health & Wellbeing, Friday Night Live, Fraternity and Sorority Life, and the WITH US Center for Bystander Intervention at Cal Poly.   

Mustang Mile honors the memory of Carson Starkey, a Cal Poly student who lost his life to alcohol poisoning in 2008 after a fraternity hazing incident. Mustang Mile hopes to provide health and wellness resources that educate students on the signs of alcohol poisoning and the dangers of binge drinking to empower them to act and help others in harmful situations. 

This year, registration is FREE! Registration will open on Tuesday, April 29 at noon from the Cal Poly Ticket Office. Registration is open to students, staff, and community members.  

Free ice cream and Woodstock’s Pizza will be available for attendees to enjoy. The band Dusty Souls and DJ Luc Poulin will be providing entertainment throughout the event. Costumes are encouraged!
