File as a Write-In Candidate in the 2024–25 ASI Elections!

San Luis Obispo, Calif. 4/01/2024 — ASI Student Government wants students to see themselves reflected in the initiatives, decisions, and positive changes happening on campus and beyond. Any student who wishes to run for candidacy and did not file or submit a Candidate Packet prior to the filing deadline can still run by filing as a write-in candidate. A write-in candidate is a student who takes action to run in the election and did not file a candidate packet within the candidacy deadline. Write-in candidate’s names will not appear on the ballot but can be written in by students on election day. Siddharth Kartha, Chair of the ASI Board of Directors, urges students to file. “Student Government has been the greatest experience of my college life. The technical and management skills I’ve developed through the program have contributed immeasurably to my professional and personal development. I would recommend any student who is interested, but missed the deadline, to file as a write-in candidate” As part of the write-in process, candidates may still participate in elections but must submit their intent to run within 24 hours after the polls close, no later than Friday, April 26 at 9 a.m. Write-in candidates must complete the candidate filling forms for ASI president or the ASI Board of Directors. Visit ASI Recruitment and Elections to learn more! No write-in packets submitted past the deadline will be accepted. Although your name will not appear on the ballot, write-in candidates are still encouraged to campaign and have their voice be heard. Remind students to write your name in on the ballot when voting during Election days on Tuesday, April 23 at 8 a.m. through Thursday, April 25 at 8 a.m. on asi.calpoly.edu. ASI Student Government is a reflection of you—be the change you want to see on campus
and file today to run as a write-in candidate!
