12th Annual Mustang Mile!

San Luis Obispo 04/25/2024 – The 12th annual Mustang Mile will be held on Wednesday, May 15 at 6:30 p.m. on Perimeter Road, near the Cal Poly Recreation Center (Building 43). ASI Events and ASI Intramural Sports are hosting this event in collaboration with Campus Health & Wellbeing, Friday Night Live, Fraternity and Sorority Life, and the WITH US Center for Bystander Intervention at Cal Poly.   

Mustang Mile honors the memory of Carson Starkey, a Cal Poly who lost his life to alcohol poisoning in 2008 from alcohol poisoning after a fraternity hazing incident. The Mustang Mile hopes to provide health and wellness resources that educate students on the signs of alcohol poisoning and the dangers of binge drinking to empower them to act and help others in harmful situations. 

The first 250 individuals to register will receive a limited-edition swag bag so be sure to secure your spot early. Registration will open on Tuesday, April 30 at 8 a.m. from the Cal Poly Ticket Office. The price is $15 for an individual and $40 for a team of 4. Registration is open to students, staff, and community members.  

Slo Mama Sweets and Woodstock’s Pizza will be available for attendees to enjoy. The band Magnolia and DJ Traveling Haus will be providing entertainment throughout the event. Costumes are encouraged!

This event is hosted by ASI and is made possible because of student fees collected by the university as a part of tuition, which ASI has the privilege of managing.
