Hi everyone! Welcome back to school. I am excited to share that the Grocery Shuttle program will continue this year! We have finalized the contract, and the shuttle will launch during Week 1, and operate through Week 15. This service is an important resource for students who need reliable transportation to access groceries, and I am proud to see it continue. To find route dates and times, please visit this link. Throughout the summer I have been meeting with campus administration to discuss key student priorities, including basic needs, affordability, resources and support during the semester conversion, transportation services, Year-Round Operations, and more. I had the opportunity to welcome new Mustangs by speaking at seven SLO Days sessions, Big Fall Welcome, as well as sharing my vision for the year at Convocation. Early this fall, our Executive Cabinet will be prioritizing voter registration and encouraging every eligible student to make sure they are registered to vote. If you are not registered or want to re-register, you can do that here!
I always want to hear directly from you! My office hours are every Wednesday from 10–11 a.m. in the UU Room 202. I am also happy to schedule time to meet outside of that, so feel free to reach out! If you are looking for a way to get involved, consider joining Executive Staff; it is one of the best ways to become involved in Student Government right now. For the past month I have been focusing on setting the ASI Board of Directors up for success, including increasing promotions for meetings and starting work on advocacy efforts. One of my biggest priorities for the year is ensuring that there will be stronger communication between the general student population and the Board of Directors. We represent YOU and I want to ensure that your thoughts and opinions are being heard and acted upon.
