At Poly Escapes, we’re thrilled to reflect on an incredible year and express our pride in our vibrant community of students. Our program consists of three core parts: the Poly Escapes Trips Program, the ASI Poly Escapes Climbing Park, and the ASI Poly Escapes Rental Center. Let’s take a look at the highlights of the 2023-2024 school year!
Poly Escapes Trips Program
The Trips Program has been a hub of adventure and personal growth this past year. Some memorable trips include:
- Chasing Waterfalls Camping and Hiking Trip
- SLOcal Hike, Kayak, and Paddle Trip
- Outdoor Leadership Program
Our quarter-long Outdoor Leadership Program is a standout feature, offering students the chance to earn a Wilderness First Aid certification, meet like-minded peers, and develop leadership skills. We’re excited to continue offering these enriching experiences in upcoming quarters!
ASI Poly Escapes Climbing Park
The Climbing Park has seen an enthusiastic response from our community:
- Climbing Park Belay Qualification Courses: multiple courses throughout the year, qualifying more than 50 students!
- Crate Stacking Halloween Contest: a highlight of the annual Fright Fest!
- Climbing Park Bouldering Competition: over 120 registered participants and lots of fun prizes!
- Total Climbing Park Check-Ins: more than 7,500 check-ins over the last academic year!
Remember, there’s no additional cost for students or Recreation Center members to use climbing gear – just head to the Rental Center to check in and get started!
ASI Poly Escapes Rental Center
Our Rental Center continues to be the go-to place for affordable outdoor gear:
- Total Rental Transactions: over 17,000 rental transactions over the last academic year!
Poly Escapes offers the cheapest rentals in town for camping, surfing, and a variety of other outdoor equipment. Whether you’re planning a weekend camping trip or looking to catch some waves, our Rental Center has you covered!
Looking Ahead
As we gear up for the Fall, we expect to offer similar exciting programs and services. The Poly Escapes team is dedicated to providing enriching outdoor experiences, promoting leadership, and fostering a supportive community. We are especially proud of our graduates who have contributed so much to our programs.
