Grocery Tripper Returns to Cal Poly

|

Following a successful first year, the Grocery Tripper shuttle is returning to provide Cal Poly students with free transportation to local grocery stores. Operated by ASI Student Government, the service returns with updated routes and schedules informed by student feedback, making grocery shopping more convenient and accessible for students.

The Grocery Tripper will operate:

  • Fall Semester: Fridays and Sundays, Aug. 28–Dec. 11, from 10 a.m.–4 p.m.
  • Spring Semester: Fridays and Sundays, Jan. 29–May 15, from 10 a.m.–4 p.m.

The service is free for all students with a valid PolyCard. The Grocery Tripper offers three routes connecting students with nearby grocery stores and retailers:

• Shuttle A: PAC ↔ Trader Joe’s/Food 4 Less

• Shuttle B: PAC ↔ Target, Whole Foods and Costco

• Shuttle C: PCV → Cerro Vista → Target, Whole Foods and Costco → PCV

The routes run on a continuous loop with approximately 40-minute pickup frequency, providing convenient transportation for students without reliable access to off-campus grocery stores. Originally introduced to improve access to healthy, affordable food, the Grocery Shuttle has continued to evolve based on student feedback. The returning service reflects ASI Student Government’s ongoing commitment to supporting students’ basic needs by providing reliable, no-cost transportation to essential grocery destinations.
