San Luis Obispo, Calif. 01/27/2025 — Associated Students, Inc. (ASI) at Cal Poly proudly announces that it has achieved the highest percentage of student voter registrations among California State University (CSU) campuses during the 2024 California University and College Ballot Bowl. Cal Poly successfully registered 1,531 students to vote, which represents approximately 6.7% newly registered students! This competition, organized by the California Secretary of State’s Students Vote Project, encourages higher education institutions to civically engage by registering students to vote.
The Ballot Bowl, held from Aug.12–Nov. 5, 2024, is a friendly competition where all of California’s major higher education institutions compete to register the most students to vote and showcase civic engagement efforts.
Cal Poly’s success in this initiative highlights the dedicated efforts of the ASI Student Government team, who led extensive outreach campaigns to promote voter registration and education among the student body. Their commitment to fostering a culture of civic engagement on campus has been a key aspect in achieving this milestone.
