ASI Recruiting for the Chair of the University Union Advisory Board

San Luis Obispo, Calif. 4/01/2025 — ASI Student Government is recruiting for the 2025–26 Chair of the University Union Advisory Board (UUAB). The UUAB’s mission is to represent students by maximizing and improving experiences at the University Union, Cal Poly Recreation Center, Sports Complex, and Doerr Family Field by making policy recommendations for these ASI-managed facilities and working to maintain the integrity of the University Union student body fee.  

The UUAB Chair is elected by a majority vote of the UUAB student membership each spring quarter. Any currently enrolled Cal Poly student may nominate an eligible student interested in the Chair position. The Chair of the UUAB serves as an officer of the ASI corporation, is responsible for calling, planning, and facilitating UUAB meetings, represents the UUAB on the Cal Poly Athletics Governing Board, ASI Business and Finance Committee, and ASI Board of Directors, and more. Nominations for the 2025–26 Chair of the UUAB will be accepted during the UUAB meetings on Apr. 2 and Apr. 16, 2025. Students being nominated will be required to accept the nomination during one of the two above UUAB meetings. Election of the Chair of the UUAB will take place during the Apr. 16 meeting after the close of nominations and a presentation from each candidate.
