Belay Classes
Get ready to reach new heights this spring quarter with an ASI Poly Escapes Belay Class! In this course, a knowledgeable Climbing Park Supervisor provides a comprehensive orientation of our facility and covers all the key aspects of belaying. You’ll gain hands-on experience and learn the knots and safety procedures for top-rope climbing. Belaying refers to the technique of managing the rope for a climber. Top-roping is a type of rock climbing where climbers are supported by a rope running through an anchor at the top of the wall, secured by a belayer on the ground. After completing the course and passing the qualification, you’ll be ready to belay your friends with confidence and ease. Join us on Friday, Apr. 18 or Friday, Apr. 25 from 9 a.m.–noon. Course cost: $15.
Introductory Hours
ASI Poly Escapes is hosting Introductory Hours at the Climbing Park during spring quarter. This time is designed specifically for those looking to explore climbing in a friendly and welcoming environment. During these designated hours, we will have an extra staff member on hand to assist newcomers. They will be available to answer any questions you might have about climbing, provide guidance, and help ease any nerves you may feel about trying this sport for the first time. We understand that stepping into the climbing world can feel intimidating, but our goal is to create a supportive atmosphere where you can feel comfortable and excited to learn!
Join us every Tuesday and Thursday from 1–3 p.m., weather permitting. No registration is required, and all equipment is provided at the Poly Escapes Rental Center at no additional cost. Our team is excited to welcome you and help you discover the joy of climbing!
