The ASI Student Government University Union Advisory Board (UUAB) is excited to announce the opening of brand new pickleball and futsal courts near the Upper Sports Complex. Here’s what Marc Cabeliza, Chair of the University Union Advisory Board, had to say about the new pickleball and futsal courts, “We’re incredibly excited to open these new pickleball and futsal courts for the Cal Poly community. This project began in 2022, and thanks to the dedication of two previous UUAB groups and this year’s group, we’ve created a space that students, faculty, and staff can all enjoy. This is a direct reflection of Student Government’s commitment to serving students, as we wouldn’t have been able to create this space without their ideas and feedback. We look forward to seeing these courts become a hub for recreation and community building on campus.”
Whether you’re looking to get in a fast-paced futsal match or sharpen your skills on the pickleball court, these new facilities provide more opportunities for students to stay active and have fun.
Players will need to bring their own equipment or check out futsal balls, paddles, and pickleballs at the Pro Shop in the Cal Poly Recreation Center. These courts are open to all students, so grab some friends and get in the game. Swing by the Upper Sports Complex and have some fun!
