Venture into the heart of Sequoia National Park for a weekend of backpacking, stunning alpine views, and iconic natural landmarks. Hike through granite-lined trails to the breathtaking Pear Lake, where crystal-clear waters reflect the surrounding Sierra peaks. Spend the night camping beneath a sky full of stars, and don’t miss the chance to stand beneath the mighty General Sherman Tree—the largest tree on Earth. It’s a perfect escape into the wild, shared with great company and unforgettable scenery.

Trip Highlights

Details

  • A pre-trip meeting will be held in the weeks prior to the trip
  • After meeting at the listed time, the group will pack up, do basic instructions, hit the road, then setup camp just outside Sequoia National Park.
  • The next day the group will be in park, visiting General Sherman Tree first, then beginning the 16 mile out and back trail to Pear Lake, camping for the night at Pear Lake.
  • The last day, we will hike out and enjoy the drive back to campus.
