Van McCarty

Van has been a Breakaway instructor at the Cal Poly Recreation Center since 2017. He has the privilege of working on campus as the accounts payable supervisor with the Cal Poly Corporation. Van graduated with a B.S. degree in accountancy from California State University, Fresno. Van is a life-long endurance athlete who began road bike racing while in college, which soon transformed into Ironman Triathlons and Ultra Trail Marathons. He is always happy to talk sports and training with anyone interested. Van loves running and cycling in the amazing environment of San Luis Obispo and the surrounding roads and trails.
