Becky has recently receieved the Outstanding Service Award. This prestigious award honors Becky Kane for her exceptional leadership, dedication, and unwavering support of students and staff. This year, Becky successfully hired and onboarded three new Human Resources team members during a period of understaffing and introduced a quarterly supervisor meeting to strengthen cross-department collaboration. She has led the modernization of key HR systems, enhancing operational efficiency, and played a pivotal role in the rapid implementation of a new software system under a demanding timeline. Becky’s contributions embody mentorship, innovation, and an enduring commitment to ASI’s success.
Becky began her employment with ASI as a student assistant at the Orfalea Family and ASI Children’s Center in 2007. After graduating from Cal Poly in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in recreation administration/event management, she began working full-time for ASI as a Club Services assistant. Four years later, she transitioned into the Human Resources department. In her current role as assistant coordinator — Human Resources, Becky oversees payroll, full-time employee onboarding, new hire data entry, employee separations, full-time employee benefits, leaves of absences, worker’s compensation, Federal Work-Study, and serves as a member of the ASI Safety Committee. In 2018, Becky received her certification as a Senior Certified Professional (SCP) through the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM), a prestigious accomplishment in the HR profession. Becky is passionate about the work that she does and appreciates the opportunities that ASI has given her to learn and grow as a professional.
It is a great joy to be able to work alongside exceptional people and help guide and develop students to excel in their future professional endeavors.
