The ASI Craft Center is Reopening

|

San Luis Obispo, Calif. 1/9/2024 — Associated Students, Inc. (ASI) is committed to providing the best experience for Cal Poly students. After an extended renovation, the ASI Craft Center, located in the Julian A. McPhee University Union (Building 65), is scheduled to reopen on Monday, Jan. 22, 2024.

Enrolled students and active Cal Poly staff and faculty members can participate in available classes, including Beginning Ceramics, Introduction to Stained Glass, Surfboard Shaping, and a variety of day-of workshops. Additionally, monthly studio passes for ceramics and surfboard shaping provide the option of unleashing your creativity outside scheduled class time. Completing a studio safety orientation is required to obtain a pass. Registration is available starting Monday, Jan. 8, at 7 a.m.

In addition to comprehensive enhancements to safety, layout, and functionality, visitors to the Craft Center can expect a new multi-media craft room for events and team building, a dedicated stained-glass studio, an expanded ceramics program, textile crafts, new specialty workshops, an updated class curriculum, and more!
