Active Campaigning for the 2026–27 ASI Elections
|
San Luis Obispo, Calif. 04/11/2026 — ASI Student Government is excited to announce the commencement of active campaigning for the 2026–27 ASI Elections. Starting today, Cal Poly students can learn more about who is running to represent them as the next ASI President and ASI Board of Directors.
Active campaigning is now underway, meaning students will begin seeing campaign materials around campus, on social media, and will have opportunities to meet candidates at ASI Elections events throughout April. These activities lead up to the student voting period beginning on Tuesday, Apr. 21, 2026, at 8 a.m.
Student Government plays a vital role in shaping student life at Associated Students Inc. Cal Poly and California Polytechnic State University. The ASI President is the only at-large elected student leader at Cal Poly and serves as the official representative of ASI to Cal Poly administration and the broader community. The ASI Board of Directors is composed of representatives from each academic college who serve as the official voice of students and act as the corporate governing board for ASI.
Student Government leaders make up the governing bodies of ASI, determining policies, guiding the use of the organization’s annual budget, and overseeing the management of several campus facilities. Their work helps ensure the voices and interests of all Cal Poly students are represented.
