Branch: Executive Cabinet
Joe Aguiar is a senior majoring in agricultural communication with minors in agribusiness and water policy. He was raised on his family’s almond and walnut farm in Northern California. This is where he developed a sense of responsibility, accountability, honesty, and it's where he learned how to take initiative.
At Cal Poly, he has served as Vice President of CAFES Ambassadors, representing the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences to prospective students, university leadership, and industry stakeholders.
Outside of Cal Poly, he has interned with wineries, water education groups, and agricultural advocacy groups, which is where his passion for policy and civic engagement has developed. He's excited to serve the larger student body at Cal Poly as the Secretary of Civic Engagement, keeping students informed as to what's happening in their local, state, and federal government.
He aspires to work in government relations or to become a water attorney. He enjoys running, playing basketball, hanging out with his friends, and enjoying all the perks San Luis Obispo has to offer!
