Garret Gomes is a second-year agricultural communications major with a minor in laws and society from the Central Valley of California. Growing up in one of the nation’s leading agricultural regions, he understands the vital role agriculture plays locally and globally, and he appreciates the impact Cal Poly has on the industry. Garret is actively involved on campus with organizations like the CAFES Ambassadors, Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow, the Los Lecheros Dairy Club, and Western Bonanza. Outside of academics, he enjoys hiking, spending time with friends, and playing pickleball. This year, Garret is focused on advocating for student success by ensuring all Cal Poly students have access to the resources they need to thrive. After graduation, he plans to pursue a career in agricultural policy, working to support sustainable and equitable solutions for the industry.
