Amanda is a Guatemalan Mexican, first-generation college student from Southern California. During her first year at Cal Poly, she joined Pilipino Cultural Exchange and began her job as a student assistant in the Special Collections and Archives department at Kennedy Library. Aside from reading books and writing poetry, she enjoys painting, gardening, and making the people around her smile. Amanda ran for ASI Student Government with the hopes of uplifting the voices of the underrepresented students at Cal Poly and addressing the inequalities across campus through transformative justice-oriented work. Amanda also serves as the chair of the ASI Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
