Diversity & Inclusion
Veronica holds a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and Chicana/o/x Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles, and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Cal Poly’s Higher Education Counseling and Student Affairs Program. She enjoys doing research that centers on the resiliency and the use of community cultural wealth of racially and ethnically diverse students in higher education. Veronica hopes to one day become a community college counselor that works directly with first-generation college students.
In her role as the Diversity and Inclusion Graduate Assistant, Veronica is responsible for building training and facilitating dialogue sessions that will aid professional staff in learning more about diverse experiences. She also provides support to other factions within ASI to expand efforts of diversity, equity, and inclusion. What Veronica enjoys most about working for ASI is the valuable mentorship she receives as well as how much she gets to learn from everyone through the dialogue sessions. Veronica hopes to continue to grow alongside all of the professional staff and student government members.
