Office: Orfalea Family & ASI Children’s Center, Building 133
Tonya started her career with ASI in the early 1990s as a head teacher working with 2-year-olds. At that time, the Children’s Center was housed in an old army barrack at Poly Grove. In 1992, the ASI Children’s Center was built. Tonya has held the positions of director and assistant director of ASI Children’s Programs. In her current role, she oversees all operations of the Orfalea Family and ASI Children’s Center and all of its staff.
Throughout the years, Tonya has worked with ASI Student Government, strategic planning, assessment, training, and many other areas of ASI as needed. Tonya has a bachelor’s degree in child and family development from Cal Poly and a master’s degree in business administration. She is a Chandler Award recipient, and her favorite thing about working at ASI is knowing she is making a difference in the lives of the children and families she serves.
