Larry began working for ASI in fall 2021. In his role as Coordinator — Aquatics & Safety, Larry is responsible for all activities related to the Cal Poly Recreation Center’s Lap Pool and Leisure Pool. He provides training, supervision, and management to all aquatics staff, including Lifeguards, Swim Instructors, and Coaches. Additionally, Larry plans and implements First Aid and CPR certification programs for ASI student staff, full-time staff, and members of the campus community.
Larry obtained his Bachelor’s degree from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo in 1993. His 25 years as an aquatics professional include a 12-year stretch as the Men’s and Women’s Head Water Polo Coach at Occidental College in Los Angeles, CA. Larry also served as the Aquatics Facility/Program Manager at the Crossroads School in Santa Monica, CA from 2014-20. Most recently, He worked as the Director of Lifeguard Services for Premier Aquatics in Orange County, CA; he helped to implement and supervise lifeguard services for approximately 100 different swimming pools across Southern California while there.
Larry’s favorite aspect about working for ASI is the ability to work with a dynamic staff that is committed to serving the recreational and wellness needs of students. His vision is to create an inclusive, fun, and friendly atmosphere to connect students to their ultimate college experience.
