Ashley Shoals

Ashley Shoals started her career with ASI in 2006 as an Orfalea Family and ASI Children’s Center classroom assistant while attending Cal Poly. In 2009, Ashley transitioned into a full-time teacher position at the Orfalea Family and ASI Children’s Center. During her time as a teacher and head teacher, she worked with both infant/toddler and preschool/kindergarten-aged children and taught in every Children’s Center classroom. After working in a teaching role for 11 years, Ashley transitioned into the role of Interim Director—Children’s Programs in 2020 before becoming the Director-Children’s Programs a 1 ½ later. In her role, she is responsible for the management of a licensed childcare facility including program oversight, staff training and development, compliance, management of subsidized childcare grants, and advancement. She also oversees a federally funded food program. Ashley and her team work to provide a high-quality early childhood education program to the Cal Poly community.

Ashley has a Bachelor of Science degree in child development with a minor in psychology from Cal Poly, and a Master’s of Science in organizational leadership with a specialization in organizational learning and performance. Ashley’s favorite thing about working for ASI is being a part of the growth that occurs for children, parents, and students.
