Head Teacher — Orfalea Family & ASI Children's Center
Office: Orfalea Family & ASI Children's Center, Building 133
Ashley has a Bachelor of Science degree in child development with a minor in psychology from Cal Poly. She is currently working on completing a Master of Science in organizational leadership with a specialization in organizational learning and performance. Ashley started her career with ASI in 2006 as an ASI Children’s Center classroom assistant while attending Cal Poly. In 2009, Ashley transitioned into a full-time teacher position. During Ashley’s time as a teacher, she has had the opportunity to work with infants through kindergarteners. Currently, Ashley is a head teacher in the preschool classrooms. Ashley has been in the field of early childhood education for 14 years and has previously worked in various settings with children including respite care for special rights children, as a nursery assistant and supervisor for a local church, and as an assistant teacher with the City of Arroyo Grande Parks and Recreation Department. Ashley likes to spend her free time watching college basketball, reading, and antiquing with friends.
My hope is that I continuously build relationships and work collaboratively with the children, families, co-workers, and student staff within our program.
