ASI Recruiting for 2022–23 Chair of the University Union Advisory Board

San Luis Obispo, Calif. March 28, 2022 — ASI Student Government is recruiting for the 2022–23 Chair of the University Union Advisory Board (UUAB). The UUAB’s mission is to represent students by maximizing their opportunities and improving experiences at the Julian A. McPhee University Union, Cal Poly Recreation Center, Cal Poly Sports Complex, and Doerr Family Field. 

The UUAB Chair is elected by a majority vote of the UUAB student membership each spring quarter. Any currently enrolled Cal Poly student may nominate an eligible student interested in the Chair position. 

The Chair of the UUAB serves as an officer of the ASI corporation and is responsible for the calling, planning, and facilitating of UUAB meetings; they also represent the UUAB on the Cal Poly Athletics Governing Board, ASI Business and Finance Committee, and ASI Board of Directors, among other entities. UUAB meetings will be held in-person during spring quarter and located inside the University Union’s room 219. Meeting details can be found on the University Union Advisory Board resource page.  

Nominations can be submitted now through April 19 via email to the current Chair of the UUAB at asichairofuuab@calpoly.edu. Students being nominated are required to accept the nomination during a UUAB meeting on either April 5 or 19. Election of the Chair of the UUAB will take place during the April 19 meeting.
