ASI Access App
The new ASI Access app is your connection to the ultimate college experience. Use ASI Access for touchless entry into the Recreation Center and other ASI-managed facilities. Activate your membership, register for your favorite ASI programs, discover events, and stay up to date on facility news and closures. Download the ASI Access app from the App Store or Google Play.
ASI Virtual Programs
- Work out at home with us! ASI Fitness will be offering virtual classes throughout the quarter beginning Monday, Jan. 4. Make sure to follow the Cal Poly Recreation Center on Instagram and Facebook so you don’t miss a beat.

- The aquatics program will be sharing at-home workouts, the new “Meet the Lifeguards” series, and fun recipes throughout winter quarter. Follow the Recreation Center on Instagram and Facebook so you don’t miss out!
- Get crafty at home with virtual crafts and activities from the Craft Center! From coloring to custom art and jewelry, follow the Craft Center on Instagram and Facebook for inspiration.
- ASI Events will be sharing entertainment and activities throughout winter quarter including virtual concerts, speakers, and trivia nights. Follow ASI Events on Instagram and Facebook to stay connected for weekly events.
ASI-Managed Facilities
The Recreation Center is currently open at partial outdoor capacity with new guidelines for entry. The lap pool and specific outdoor exercise areas on the pool deck are available by reservation only through the ASI Access app. You can also make a reservation for an in-person fitness class outside on our pool deck. Due to the university required COVID-19 testing, students must show a certified Campus Pass before entering the Cal Poly Recreation Center. Learn more.
Facility Hours:
Monday–Friday: 7 a.m.–8 p.m.
Saturday–Sunday: 10 a.m.–6:30 p.m.
Julian A. McPhee University Union
The first floor of the University Union is open. The second floor of the UU will remain closed. First floor restaurants are open for outdoor dining only including Starbucks, Yogurt Creations, and Mustang Station. Mustang Lanes will remain closed in accordance with California’s Phase 2 guidelines.
Facility Hours:
Monday–Friday: 6:30 a.m.–8 p.m.
Saturday–Sunday: 8 a.m.–8 p.m.
Orfalea Family and ASI Children’s Center
The Children’s Center is open with procedures in place to protect children, families, and staff. Occupancy is restricted at 60–65 children with a maximum of 10 children per classroom per the California Department of Education/Licensing and CDC guidelines.

Monday–Friday: 8 a.m.–5 p.m.
The Cal Poly Sports Complex is open at a limited capacity for open recreation, exercise, and training. ASI will enforce a check-in procedure to ensure only Cal Poly affiliated community members can utilize the fields. Field supervisors will check Cal Poly ID cards or alumni status prior to allowing field use. Cal Poly affiliates include students, alumni, faculty, staff, and emeritus.

Monday–Friday: 5–9:30 p.m.
Saturday–Sunday: 9 a.m.–noon, 5–9:30 p.m.
Lower Sports Complex
Sunrise–sunset
Basketball Courts

ASI will enforce a check-in procedure to ensure only Cal Poly affiliated community members can utilize the fields. Field supervisors will check Cal Poly ID cards or alumni status prior to allowing field use. Cal Poly affiliates include students, alumni, faculty, staff, and emeritus.
Monday–Friday: 3–10 p.m.
Saturday–Sunday: 2–10 p.m.
Your Help Matters
- Per the State of California Face Covering Order, all program participants and individuals entering an ASI-managed facility will be required to wear a face covering. Exceptions will be provided to individuals that meet the guidelines per the State of California Face Covering Order.
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds especially after you have been in a public place, or after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
- If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. Cover all surfaces of your hands and rub them together until they feel dry.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
- Practice social distancing by maintaining a distance of approximately 6 feet from others when possible.
