Mustang Mile Is Back for It’s 10th Anniversary

The 10th Annual Mustang Mile is back on Cal Poly’s campus!

Hosted by ASI Events and Intramural Sports, everyone’s favorite 5K fun run returns on May 4 at 6:30 p.m. — and will feature a costume contest and prizes.

Registration for Mustang Mile opens on April 25 through the Cal Poly Ticket Office. Participants can pick up their swag bags and race timing chip on Wednesday, May 4 from 4–6:30 p.m.

Registration Prices:

  • $15 for an individual
  • $40 for a group of four

* The first 250 people to register will get a limited-edition swag bag with a Mustang Mile 2022 t-shirt and more!

Mustang Mile is presented by ASI Events and Intramural Sports in collaboration with Campus Health & Wellbeing, Friday Night Live, Fraternity and Sorority Life, and the WITH US Center for Bystander Intervention at Cal Poly.

Mustang Mile honors the memory of Carson Starkey, a Cal Poly student who passed away in 2008 from alcohol poisoning after a fraternity hazing incident. The Mustang Mile hopes to provide health and wellness resources that educate students on the signs of alcohol poisoning and the dangers of binge drinking to empower them to act and help others in harmful situations.

As always, costumes are strongly encouraged! Walk or run, prizes will be awarded for best costumes and fastest times. See you at the starting line! May the fourth be with you.
