Mindful Walks & Nourishing Talks: Prioritizing Wellness

This spring, ASI is bringing a refreshing approach to wellness with the Mindful Walks & Nourishing Talks series. Designed to help students focus on both physical and mental well-being, this series offers a blend of nutrition education, mindful movement, and opportunities to connect with campus nature spots. 

Fuel Your Body and Mind 

Healthy habits start with the right knowledge, and this series kicks off with three engaging sessions designed to help you make informed food choices: 

  • Nourish to Flourish: How to Eat for Energy (April 7, 3–4 p.m.) – Learn how to fuel your body for sustained energy throughout the day. 
  • Effortless Eats: Meal Prep Made Easy (April 21, 3–4 p.m.) – Discover simple meal prep strategies to make healthy eating more accessible. 
  • Eat, Sleep, Slay: Foods for Rest and Resilience (May 5, 3–4 p.m.) – Explore the connection between nutrition and quality rest. 

Each of these sessions will take place in the Recreation Center Training Room (Building 43–109), providing a welcoming space to learn and engage. 

Move with Mindfulness 

Physical activity is just as important as nutrition, and Mindful Walks & Nourishing Talks also emphasizes movement through three guided outings: 

  • Steps to Serenity: Mindful Movement for Body and Soul (April 14, 3–4 p.m.) – A calming walk to the Cal Poly Koi Pond to practice mindfulness in motion. 
  • Nature’s Classroom: Finding Balance and Connection on Campus (April 28, 3–4 p.m.) – A journey to the Plant Conservatory to explore how nature can enhance well-being. 
  • Gratitude in Motion: A Mindful Outdoor Adventure (May 12, 3–4 p.m.) – A scenic hike to The P, encouraging movement as a form of appreciation and self-care. 

Each of these mindful movement sessions begins in the Recreation Center Training Room and extends to unique locations around campus, blending guided reflection with time in nature.
