Are you interested in running for the 2021–22 ASI Board of Directors or ASI president and did not submit a candidate packet before the filing deadline? The opportunity to run as a write-in candidate is available now for the 2021–22 ASI Elections!
Any student who wishes to run for candidacy and did not file or submit a candidate packet prior to the filing deadline can still run by filing as a write-in candidate. A write-in candidate is someone who takes action to run in the election as ASI president or as an ASI Board of Directors member. Since a write-in candidate packet is submitted after the initial filing deadline, the write-in candidate’s name will not be on the ballot and will have to be written in on election day.
Write-in candidates can complete the candidate filing forms for ASI president or the ASI Board of Directors on the ASI Recruitment and Elections website and submit their intent to run in the upcoming election up to 24 hours after the polls close by Friday, April 23 at 9 a.m. Any write-in candidate packets received after the deadline will not be accepted.
Anyone interested running as a write-in candidate should campaign and let students know to write-in their name on the ballot when voting. Cal Poly students will have the opportunity to vote during Election Day on Wednesday, April 21 at 9 a.m. through Thursday, April 22 at 9 a.m. through the ASI website and Cal Poly Portal.
