Have you ever thought about joining ASI Student Government? This is your chance! The candidate filing period for the 2021-22 ASI president and ASI Board of Directors is open Monday, Feb. 8 through Friday, Feb. 26 at 4 p.m. All of the important dates can be found on the election timeline.

As the collective voice of Cal Poly students, Student Government leaders advocate for change, support, and resources to create positive contributions both on and off-campus. If elected, leaders will have the opportunity to effect change and create a better Cal Poly for current and future generations of students.

To file for ASI president or the Board of Directors, students must complete a Candidate Packet. The Candidate Packet, including required electronic and pdf forms, are found on the ASI Recruitment and Elections website.

ASI Student Government will host virtual informational sessions, where interested students can learn more about student government and the elections process. Sessions will include a presentation, Q & A period, and breakout rooms with a current student government member. Sessions will be held on Monday, Feb. 8 at 7 p.m. and Thursday, Feb. 25 at 11 a.m. Those interested in filing and learning more about the ASI Board of Directors can attend a virtual Open House on Wednesday, Feb. 17 at 4:30 p.m. All Zoom links are on the ASI Recruitment and Elections website.

The ASI president represents the general student body and acts as the official representative of ASI to Cal Poly administration and the general public. Regular board meetings convene every other Wednesday at 5:10 p.m. Every Monday, the board engages in working meetings as a tool to facilitate discussions regarding ASI business, events, and campus issues.
