The Cal Poly Recreation Center will be opening indoors at partial capacity on Monday, March 29, 2021. Recently, San Luis Obispo County moved into the red tier of the Blueprint for a Safer Economy which allows gyms and fitness centers to open indoors with modifications at a maximum 10% capacity. The opening includes access to the Upper Exercise Area, an additional exercise space in the South Gym, and the restart of group fitness classes which will be held in the North Gym. The Recreation Center will continue to provide outdoor recreation spaces, in addition to virtual programming.
To ensure the safety of our participants and staff, additional cleaning procedures in accordance with the CDC and County guidelines include but are not limited to a nightly deep cleaning and sanitization, regular disinfecting of high contact surfaces, cleaning of equipment and common areas using disinfectant cleaning supplies, and restrooms will be deep cleaned a minimum of two times per day. Additionally, a mid-day secondary deep cleaning will occur with phased closures of spaces including equipment sanitization. Participants will be required to clean equipment before and after each use with provided sanitizing materials. Hand-sanitizer will also be available throughout the facility.
Visit Facility Hours for modified hours of operation.
