University Union
The Julian A. McPhee University Union is the gathering place for the Cal Poly community. By unifying distinct services, programs and physical spaces, the UU cultivates enduring loyalty to Cal Poly. The UU complements the academic experience through an extensive variety of cultural, educational, and social programs enabling students to balance course work and free time as cooperative factors in education.
Craft Center
Bike Repair
The Bike Repair Room is equipped with five bike stations, each equipped with a cabinet of basic tools. A water-based solvent tank is also available to students.
Ceramics 
The Ceramics Studio is equipped with electric wheels, a slab roller, two electric kilns and a pug mill. Tools, glazes and firings are included with a ceramics pass.
Flameworking 
The Flameworking Studio is equipped with torches and tools necessary for students to make beads, pendants, jars and small sculptures.
Jewelry 
Turn your ideas into art. Learn how to make sculptures, rings, and metallic jewelry of all kinds. There is no limit to the possibilities.
Stained Glass 
This craft is over 1,000 years old, dating back to the middle ages. Metallic salts give stained glass its color; your artistic skills give it personality. Try it today!
Surfboard Shaping 
The Surfboard Shaping Studio is equipped with all the tools and materials necessary to shape your own board from a blank to a wave-riding beauty.
Woodshop 
The Woodshop provides the space and tools needed to complete woodworking projects. Safety classes are required.
Rose Float
Express your creative talents while representing Cal Poly in a long-standing University tradition. Students decide on an original float theme and manage the entire project. From design and mechanics to construction and decoration, Rose Float is an unforgettable hands-on experience for student volunteers.
