Lifeguard
( $9.42 per hour ; 15-20 hours per week )Duties: Under the supervision of the Coordinator of Aquatics and Summer Programs and Student Manager - Aquatics, the Lifeguard is responsible for the supervision of the pool and pool area during recreational swimming hours and fitness and instructional program hours.
Requirements:
Interested candidates must attend one of following skills screening at the recreation center pool:
Monday, September 15, 2008 at 6:00 p.m.
Current certification in lifeguard training. CPR for the Professional Rescuer certification or equivalent, and either Title 22 or EMT certification are required. Previous lifeguard experience preferred. Must be a currently enrolled student at Cal Poly with a minimum of 6 units. All ASI student staff must have a minimum GPA of 2.0. Graduate students must carry 4 units/3.0 GPA. Ability to be highly organized and have good planning skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to work with diverse populations and those with special limitations or needs. Ability to work well in a team atmosphere. Respond to and follow all appropriate emergency procedures.
