There is so much more than meets the eye when walking into the 165,000-square-foot Cal Poly Recreation Center. Whether you are coming to workout, study, or relax, the Recreation Center is equipped with a variety of amenities to meet your needs. Take advantage of everything the Recreation Center has to offer with these tips and tricks for your next visit!

Membership Services

Staff at the Membership Services front desk are available to answer any questions you have about rates, hours, and any new and upcoming events. If you forget your entry code, want to sponsor a guest, or want to sign up for your first free-personal-training session, stop by the front desk.

The Pro Shop

Located in the main lobby, The Pro Shop is a one stop shop for your recreational needs. Stop by to check out a variety of games and equipment which can be borrowed for the day or reserved for multi-day use. A variety of items including locks, water bottles, and swim goggles are for sale, as well as a towel service subscription which will guarantee you a clean towel every visit. The Pro Shop is also the check-in location for all fitness classes and oversees the lost and found.

Facility Amenities

The Recreation Center is equipped with three fitness studios for group fitness classes offered throughout the day. When not reserved, Studios Two and Three are open to all participants for personal recreational use.

The Multi-Activity Center (MAC) is also a great place for a workout and stores additional equipment such as kettlebells, tires, Bulgarian bags, and pylosoft boxes. Three exercise rooms located throughout the building offer comprehensive workout machines including three Olympic-size platforms located in the Lower Exercise Room. The Main, North, and South Gyms provide extra space for basketball, volleyball, or dodgeball.

For studying or relaxing, check out the beanbag chairs and tables downstairs near the lobby or grab a lounge on the pool deck.

ASI Jobs

ASI employs more than 500 Cal Poly students in a wide variety of positions. The Recreation Center offers a number of different positions for students to work in an active and fun environment. On-campus employment through ASI provides valuable work experiences and leadership opportunities. Student employees are equipped with the tools to develop their skills in a professional setting with an organization that prioritizes academics above all else. New positions are posted regularly.
