"One in four college students lives with a mental illness, and it’s critical that these students have the support they need,” Secretary of Health and Wellbeing on the ASI Executive Cabinet Haley Wintsch said.

ASI Student Government, PULSE, and Campus Health & Wellbeing have partnered for the annual Buck the Stigma Mental Health Awareness Week, the largest stigma-reducing campaign on campus. Starting Monday, Oct. 16, each day of the week will highlight a mental health issue and include events, activities, speakers, and an awareness gallery to shine a light on stigmas surrounding mental health.

“The primary goal of Buck the Stigma is to get rid of the stigma behind mental illness and receiving treatment for mental illness. It’s also our priority to educate students on the warning signs and to give them resources. This campaign is here to help all students and to change the campus climate around mental health,” Wintsch said.
