Poly Escapes is your entrance to the outdoors with low-cost outdoor adventure trips, equipment rental and a first-class climbing wall. Poly Escapes offers a wide variety of trips to choose from including:

Trips

Register for outdoor adventures lead by trained and experienced student trip leaders. From day hikes to ice climbing, there are adventures for every skill level.

How do I sign up for a Trip?
There are two ways to sign up for trips. Come to Poly Escapes in the University Union to register in person or register on-line through the ASI website.

Equipment rentals

Rent equipment at low cost for outdoor adventures, including kayaks, backpacks, sleeping bags and tents. Rent for one day, weekend or for the week.

Do I need equipment for a Trip?
Some trips, such as rock climbing or canyoneering, include technical hardware equipment. If you need to rent equipment such as backpacks, sleeping bags or other equipment you will receive a 50% discount on rentals when you are registered for that trip. Your Trip Leader will inform participants of equipment needed for the trip.

Climbing wall

Located in the University Union just outside Poly Escapes, the state-of-the-art climbing wall offers top rope, bouldering and lead climbing. The wall is open to all Cal Poly students free of charge. All equipment is provided: shoes, harnesses, helmets, belay devices and ropes.

Maps and books

Poly Escapes offers a library of maps, books, brochures and information to plan excursions.
